Hip Resurfacing Video ClipsThese video clips are from the website of the ANCA-Clinic for Hip Surgery of Dr. Koen De Smet in Belgium - http://www.hip-clinic.com. They show the preparation and placement of the acetabular and femoral components of a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) prothesis. These video clips are quite graphic in nature, and I'm not sure I would have wanted to view them before my surgery. I was nervous as it was, and these videos would have only added to my apprehension and nervousness. After surgery, they were great viewing and helped explain why I was so sore and why it takes a long time to completely recover from such a traumatic surgery. There, now you've been warned. Even if you don't want to watch the two surgery videos, be sure to view the femoral spinning video. It is not graphic and merely shows how smoothly the metal-on-metal components fit and interact.
